Writer's Relief Blog: "Staff Picks: Books About Writing That Changed Our Lives"

It will come as no surprise that many of the staffers here at Writer’s Relief are writers or people who have creative talents. This week, we asked our staff members to recommend their favorite books about writing—technique, craft, lifestyle, and publishing. (Note: It’s intentional that we’re publishing our list just in time for holiday shopping; pick up one of these great books for you or a writer you know!)

Check out our list of favorite books about writing and publishing, and then add your own!

Writer’s Relief Says Happy Birthday To Our Favorite Nonagenarian
Although the difficulties of dealing with Hurricane Sandy have taught us many lessons, there’s perhaps no more important lesson than this: What makes a company strong is not its walls and windows (or its computers and roofs); it’s the people.
And last week, we celebrated one of our favorite people: Writer’s Relief veteran Frank T. is turning 90 years old. Instead of retiring to Florida and playing shuffleboard, Frank’s here with us: lifting boxes after the storm, rescuing stray cats (and deer), making wisecracks, dancing through the office when a good tune comes on, negotiating with the salespeople, flirting with the ladies, swapping recipes for vegetable dishes (spinach! broccoli!), and keeping everybody in line.

Writer's Relief Blog: "Mail Call: A Hilarious Letter From A New Client"

A new client got in touch with us recently to use our A La Carte Service, and we have to admit, we’re especially excited about this particular project. It takes a familiar genre, stays true to the elements that make that genre so appealing, but also turns them entirely upsidedown.

The author of the book sent us a hilarious letter. And we wanted to share part of it with you.
